Shout! Factory has reportedly acquired distribution rights to the “ALF” franchise in a multi-year partnership with Alien Productions.
Included in the deal are exclusive U.S. rights spanning digital, broadcast and home entertainment packaged media for all 102 episodes of the famed puppet-fronted NBC late 1980s sitcom along with all episodes of the animated “ALF: The Animated Series,” “ALF Tales” and the telemovie “Project: ALF”.
In addition, Shout! is planning to develop new ALF-related content and launch digital media initiatives and domestic syndication in streaming, electronic sell-through and VOD. They are also planning an “aggressive rollout” of pop-culture content related to “ALF” later this year.
