On September 14, it was confirmed that Ryu Jun Yeol and Jeon Yeo Been will be hosting the opening ceremony for the 27th BIFF, which will be held at the Busan Cinema Center on October 5.
Both actors have maintained good relations with BIFF as Ryu Jun Yeol was invited to the Korean Film Today-Panorama section at the 20th BIFF through his project “Glory Day,” whereas Jeon Yeo Been was invited to the 22nd BIFF through “After My Death,” winning Actress of the Year.
After making his debut through “Socialphobia” in 2015, Ryu Jun Yeol received public recognition for his solid acting skills. He actively portrayed unique characters across the small and big screens such as in the dramas “Reply 1988” and “Lucky Romance” as well as the films “Dokjeon” and “A Taxi Driver.” Ryu Jun Yeol also displayed his acting transformation by playing the role of Moo Reuk in “Alienoid,” which was released in July 2022.
Jeon Yeo Been, who was applauded by both the media and critics for her amazing acting skills in the film “After My Death,” swept awards at various major film festivals. The actress gradually built up her filmography by showing various aspects of herself through the dramas “Night in Paradise,” “Melo Is My Nature,” “Vincenzo,” and more. Ahead of the release of her upcoming drama “A Time Called You,” Jeon Yeo Been will also be greeting audiences through “Glitch,” which is invited to the On Screen section at this year’s BIFF.
The 27th Busan International Film Festival, which will kick off without tight COVID-19 restrictions for the first time in three years, will be held at the Busan Cinema Center for 10 consecutive days, starting with the opening ceremony on October 5.
