Tinytouchtales has been around for a decade now, and in 2015 they really struck gold with the release of Card Crawl, a Solitaire-style spin on the card-based roguelike dungeon crawler. It remains one of my favorite games of all time, and since its release there have been a handful of other games from Tinytouchtales that take place in the same universe as Card Crawl and feature a similar aesthetic and even many familiar characters. One of those Card Crawl-adjacent games was 2017’s Card Thief, which took a stealth-based dungeon crawling game and blended it with a path-drawing card game. Now the developer is preparing to launch their newest game in the Card Crawl Extended Universe, and this one is almost like a blend of Card Crawl and Card Thief. It’s called Card Crawl Adventure, and here is its latest trailer.
Can I just say that I love how the beginning of that trailer pans across the various booths where you can play other Tinytouchtales games before you settle in in front of your old foe from Card Crawl? And that the Card Thief bird swoops in and gives a shout there at the very beginning? I love this trailer. As you can see this is a single-player competitive card battling game like Card Crawl but with the line-drawing style mechanics of Card Thief. The path you draw will determine which cards will combine to create different spells and attacks, and naturally you’ll be able to unlock and improve new cards as well as utilize various equipment and items as part of your strategy. I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on this one, which will happen a week from today on August 3rd when Card Crawl Adventure hits both the iOS and Android storefronts.
