He might be one of the most famous rock stars on the planet, but Mick Jagger still knows how to keep a low profile. The singer dropped by a local bar in Charlotte, North Carolina while touring with The Rolling Stones, but none of his fellow patrons realized who they were drinking with—despite the iconic band being scheduled to perform in town the following evening.
Jagger posted a photo of himself to Twitter enjoying a solitary beer on the terrace outside the Thirsty Beaver Saloon. As the picture can attest, it sure looks like the beloved local watering hole’s other customers didn’t even know he was there. Either that, or they kept their cool to an impressive degree.
According to saloon proprietor Brian Wilson, one regular did recognize the Rolling Stone as soon as he walked in, but the other Beaver-goers didn’t know it was him. “He was in here and then he was gone,” the one eagle-eyed customer told Wilson, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Wilson added that he has since teased the young bartender who was working that night for not recognizing Jagger: “C’mon, Hayley, the greatest rock ‘n’ roll legend of all time?”
While it’s pretty impressive that a rock legend like Jagger is capable of going incognito in 2021, what’s even more staggering is the musician’s ability to bounce back and continue touring in the wake of various health issues: in 2019, he began performing again just two months after undergoing heart surgery.

He also has the kind of mobility and flexibility that men 20 years his junior might strive for, something which we can potentially credit to his signature dance moves: “Every guy should be striving for this level of lower-body flexibility because, in most people, their hips are among the first things to go,” said Men’s Health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel.
