The official website of the Hikari no Ou (The Firecatcher Lord) television anime announced the main cast members on Wednesday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2023.

Hinako: Megumi Yamaguchi (New Game!)
Junji Nishimura (Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou) is helming the anime at Signal.MD. Mamoru Oshii (Vlad Love) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Takuya Saitou (Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On) is designing the characters and Kenji Kawai (Mob Psycho 100) is composing the music.
Holp Shuppan began publishing Rieko Hinata‘s post-apocalyptic fantasy novel in December 2018, featuring artworks by Akihiro Yamada (The Twelve Kingdoms). The fourth volume shipped in September 2020.
