Just a week after giving her 2014 Oscars dress to her daughter Zahara for the Los Angeles premiere of Marvel’s Eternals, Angelina Jolie lent another designer gown to another daughter for another Eternals premiere. This time it was a Dior, for Shiloh, in London.
Walking the red carpet at the movie’s U.K. premiere on Wednesday, October 27, Jolie was accompanied by five of her kids. Her 15-year-old daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, wore her mom’s Dior dress, last seen on the 2019 press tour for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, per Page Six.
The black-and-white printed gown originally had a floor-length skirt but was hemmed to just above the knee for Shiloh. She’s still a kid, after all.
Angelina Jolie recently opened up about giving her clothes to her kids as hand-me-downs, which is both sweet and sustainable. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, wear it and wear it better than me! Take it, it’s your turn,’” she told E! In March, she told British Vogue, “I invest in quality pieces, and then just wear them to death. Boots, a favorite coat, a favorite purse, I don’t change things often, you know? That’s one of my things.” And then she lends them to her kids: presto, change-o, upcycled!
In the same interview Jolie opened up about motherhood during the pandemic. “I was never very good at sitting still,” she said. “Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere. I didn’t imagine it in that true, traditional sense. I feel like I’m lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom. I’m managing through it because the children are quite resilient, and they’re helping me, but I’m not good at it at all.”
