Lionsgate has just announced three theatrical release dates for 2023, with the biggest announcement being the arrival of the fourth “The Expendables” movie on September 22nd.
50 Cent, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia join this entry of the franchise alongside returnees Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture.
The synopsis reads: “Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give the term ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”
Scott Waugh directs from a script by Spenser Cohen and Max Adams. Kevin King-Templeton, Les Weldon, and Yariv Lerner produce.
Also announced today is the comedy “About My Father” which will open on May 26th 2023 in time for Memorial Day weekend. Writer/director Sebastian Maniscalco stars alongside Leslie Bibb as a couple who do a weekend get-together with their very different parents. Robert De Niro, Kim Cattrall, Anders Holm and David Rasche co-star.
Finally there’s an untitled raunchy Adele Lim comedy coming on June 23rd. Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Sabrina Wu and Stephanie Hsu co-star and plot specifics are under wraps.
