The Amazons are an indie rock band who are taking the UK by storm, with their latest album released in early September hitting number 5 in the UK charts. Originally formed in Reading in 2014, the boys now have three top ten albums making up their discography and are embarking on their UK wide tour at the beginning of October. Their latest album How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me? marks a new era for The Amazons; the boys emerge from their darker themes shown in their previous albums – Future Dust and their self-titled debut The Amazons – to explore brighter, more hopeful ideas. Inspired by and partly written during frontman Matt Thomson’s long-distance relationship during the pandemic, these songs speak to love and relationships; detailing the intricacies of their lockdown relationship – the missing, the need for reassurance, the reuniting – all delivered with the band’s classic guitar-driven sound.
This tour they team up with BBC Music Introducing… which help discover local lesser-known artists and give them a platform to perform. Through this scheme, The Amazons’ support acts will be different for every show. The Amazon’s O2 Guildhall performance will be supported by Coach Party, an independent female-fronted band from the Isle of Wight.
