It’s a huge week for Apple Arcade, with several games receiving updates alongside a new arrival on the subscription service. There’s also news of an arcade shooter from Bandai Namco. First up, Galaga Wars+ will head to Apple Arcade soon. It comes from Bandai Namco and promises a dose of nostalgia for players as they destroy wave after wave of aliens in a bid to save the entire galaxy. It uses simple touch screen controls that bring a modern spin to an arcade classic.
While we have to wait for Galaga Wars, Crayola Create and Play becomes available today. It is an app that encourages creativity and curiosity in children. It takes inspiration from STEAM and STEM education techniques and looks to educate through play. Developer Red Games Co says it will receive frequent updates with new features, activities and seasonal content, so there’s always something new to enjoy.
Lego Star Wars Battles season 2 gets underway this week with Admiral Ackbar acting as the host. It introduces the Scarif map and several units, including the AT-RT and Riot Control Walker.
The latest update to Solitaire Stories introduces a quality of life change. Players can now adjust the story difficulty level. Elsewhere, there are two new stories called Boardgames & Brimstone and Tommy Four Hooves.
Three new Green Hill Zone tracks are now available in Sonic Racing, while Classic Sonic has joined the roster with his own unique vehicle.
To celebrate the spooky season, SongPop Party has begun a Halloween Celebration event featuring special playlists. If players manage to master them, they will unlock a new character.
10 new challenges and six sport-themed outfits have arrived in Slash Quest as part of Season 3. To discover what the challenges involve, you will need to find the Taskmaster in camp and have a chat with him.
The latest update to Cricket Through the Ages adds Ultra Cricket Mode. It is a creative mode that allows players to create a variety of characters and game modes.
Finally, Agent Intercept has received two new side missions. In one of them, players can drive around as Penny Black for the first time. They will need to sneak through a CLAW base before heading back to the Sceptre to cause chaos. In the second new side quest, players will need to thwart a threat that has been hiding in plain sight.
