Denver Nuggets rookie Bones Hyland was a healthy scratch from the lineup on Wednesday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves after a violation of team rules.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone revealed after the 124-107 loss that Hyland was sent home for disciplinary reasons. He did not reveal the extent of the matter but said Hyland will travel with the team on its upcoming three-game road trip starting Friday in Atlanta.

“He will be on this road trip and we’ll be able to go,” Malone said. “He was sent home tonight (for a) violation of team rules. I love him and he has got a bright future here. He will be on our road trip and he will be back playing come Atlanta.”

Hyland has emerged as a fan favorite in Denver given his outgoing personality and infectious playing style on the court. He has often drawn praise from Malone based on his ability and willingness to bring effort and energy every night off the bench.

He is averaging 8.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19 games.
