Andrew Garfield is set to portray British entrepreneur Richard Branson in the limited series “Hot Air” at Universal International Studios.
“Deadpool 2” helmer David Leitch is set to direct the project which has multiple major platforms vying for it.
“Paddington 2” scribe Jon Croker pens the six-parter based on investigative journalist Martyn Gregory’s book “Dirty Tricks” and follows the fascinating, outrageous rise of Virgin Airways.
The series will deal with how Virgin Atlantic began to threaten British Airways’ dominance in the UK market and the ‘dirty tricks’ campaign BA initiated that ultimately went to court in a lawsuit settled on the eve of the trial.
Croker and Garfield executive produce with 87North. Garfield just landed his first Emmy nomination for FX limited series “Under the Banner of Heaven”.
