The next Sonic the Hedgehog movie can’t come fast enough — or could it? Well, the official Twitter account for the expanding live-action adaptation of SEGA’s video game series today announced that the next installment will accelerate into theaters on December 20, 2024.

Directed by Jeff Fowler and starring Ben Schwartz, James Marsden and Jim Carrey, the first Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie premiered on January 25, 2020 before a global release on February 12. A second movie was released earlier this year on March 30; both were produced by Paramount Pictures and have currently earned a combined total of $721,588,587 worldwide.
