While Fortnite seasons last 10+ weeks, there’s still a lot to get done before the end. Here’s everything you need to do in Fortnite Season 8 before it ends.
Like every season, Fortnite Season 8 offers a lot of exclusive cosmetic items. Not only does it come with yet another stylish Battle Pass, but there are more items to earn beyond the 100 battle pass tiers.
However, these cosmetics are only available for a season. After Fortnite Season 8 ends, you can’t get them anymore. Some of the best skins Fortnite has ever released are gone forever because of their seasonal exclusivity.
With so much content packed into one season, it’s hard to keep track of it all. Here is a checklist of all the limited-time cosmetics players can earn before the end of Season 8.
Toona Fish Colors and Character Styles
Fortnite Season 8 introduced another customizable Battle Pass skin. This time, it’s the cartoon counterpart to Toon Meowscles; Toona Fish. This new skin is a vintage cartoon version of Fishtsick.

While a cartoon Fishstick would have been enough, he also comes with a ton of styles. However, they have to be unlocked similar to Kymera’s alternate styles. To unlock them, you will have to collect Color Bottles and Rainbow Ink.
Players will have to collect three of each Color Bottle to unlock a new color. You will then need to collect 10 to 15 Rainbow Ink to unlock the character style. Players will have to collect 525 Rainbow Ink in total to unlock all of the Toona Fish Character Styles.
Season 8 Enlightened Skins
The Season 8 Enlightened Skins/Super Styles haven’t been revealed yet, but we know they’re going to be in the game. And since the Season 8 Battle Pass mirrors that of Season 7, we can guesstimate how players will unlock them.
Last season, there were three tiers of Super Styles skins. Each tier consists of five different cosmetics. Players had to buy each Super Style for 15 – 20 Battle Stars.
Including all of the Battle Pass items and additional styles, players will have to reach level 200. This will give players enough Battle Stars to unlock every Season 8 exclusive item.
Fortnite Season 8 ends on December 5. Again, players will have until then to prepare for Season 9. We will keep this article updated with all of the cosmetics you can unlock exclusively during this season.

Characters returned to Fortnite in Season 8. Here are all of the Fortnite character locations in the new season, along with which ones offer upgrades, prop disguises, bounties, and more.
Fortnite first introduced NPCs in Season 5, with the large-scale overhaul of the economy. NPCs are back once again in Season 8, and they are just as useful as they have been in previous seasons.
However, with the return of the Punch Card system, NPCs are more important than ever. Players will need to find and talk with NPCs to start questlines. These quests are the main way players will earn XP throughout the season.
Without further ado, here are all of the Fortnite Character locations in Season 8.

Fortnite characters locations Season 8 map
Luckily, the folks at Fortnite.GG has an interactive map of all of the NPCs in Season 8.
Here’s a map of all of the NPCs in Fortnite Season 8. We’ll keep this updated over the course of the season as more appear or are found around the map. Bigfoot, for instance, is missing from this list. We’re not sure whether that’s because he isn’t there or just hasn’t been found yet.
- Disguised man: offers a prop disguise
- Pink Rift: allows you to activate a Rift
- Yellow Cloud: Reveal Future Storm Circle
Compared to seasons past, the number of Fortnite character locations in Season 8 is very minimal. As well, players can no longer upgrade weapons through NPCs. The pool of Mythic weapons has also been minimized.

The Sideways Scythe is the third Sideways weapon to be added to Fortnite Season 8, and here is how to get its Mythic version.
The Sideways is one of the main gimmicks introduced in Fortnite Season 8. It’s a special zone that is home to monstrous creatures. It also doesn’t allow any building once inside.
In addition to The Sideways, Fortnite Season 8 also introduced Sideways Monsters, Sideways Chests, and the Cube Assassin. Players can find all of these inside The Sideways.
Players can access The Sideways via the large pimple-like marking on the map. They can also spawn Sideways Anomalies by walking towards the purple rifts on the map. Here’s how to get the Fortnite Mythic Sideways Scythe.
Getting the Sideways Scythe
Like any of the Sideways weapons, the Sideways Scythe can only be obtained from The Sideways. Players can find them as floor loot or inside Sideways chest. You can find these chests inside Sideways Anomalies.
Additionally, players can get the Sideways Scythe by killing the new Caretaker monster. However, these massive beasts are not easy to take down.
The Sideways Scythe can be found in five different rarities. The higher the rarity, the more damage each hit of the scythe will do. You can find them from Grey to Orange rarity.
Players can also heal themselves by eliminating players with the Sideways Scythe. It can deal up to 46 damage per swing which is more than double the damage of the pickaxe.
Upgrading the Scythe to Mythic
Players can upgrade the Fortnite Sideways Scythe just like they would the Minigun and Rifle. You will need to kill Sideways Monsters to get Cube Parts. You can use these parts to upgrade the Sideways Scythe to Mythic Rarity.
- Uncommon (green) -> Rare (blue) – 15 Cube Monster parts
- Rare (blue) -> Epic (purple) – 20 Cube Monster Parts
- Epic (purple) -> Legendary (orange) – 25 Cube Monster Parts
- Legendary (orange) -> Mythic (gold) – 50 Cube Monster Parts
Players can upgrade the Fortnite Sideways Scythe via the crafting menu. This is the same menu where players can use Nuts and Bolts to sidegrade normal weapons.

The annual Fortnitemares event is back, and players once again have the chance to snag some free limited-time cosmetic rewards.
October is the spookiest time of year, and Fortnite has made a tradition to celebrate the Halloween season. Fortnitemares is the annual in-game event that features all sorts of frightful activities.
During Fortnitemares, Epic Games releases a ton of new Halloween-themed cosmetics while releasing some fan favorites from the vault. Players can purchase these items from the Fortnite item shop using V-Bucks.
However, not everyone wants to spend money on seasonal cosmetics. Don’t worry, though. Epic Games has those players covered too. Each year, Fortnitemares gives away free cosmetic rewards to those who complete the Halloween challenges.
Free Fortnitemares 2021 cosmetic rewards
This year, there are eight new cosmetics that players can earn by participating in the Fortnitemares challenges. These cosmetics are exclusive to Fortnitemares 2021, so if you miss out you’ll never see them again.
While some seasonal cosmetic rewards can tend to be lame, all of this year’s rewards are pretty cool. Especially the Glider and Back Bling. Here are all of the Fortnitemares 2021 free cosmetics. Here are the Fortnitemares challenges and their corresponding rewards.
- Cube Cruiser Glider – Complete Dark Jonesy’s The Oracel Speaks Punchcard
