Arsenal have secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 5-1 victory over Sunderland.
Despite a spirited performances from Lee Johnson’s side it was Eddie Nketiah who inspired the home side to a comfortable win with a splendid hat-trick at the Emirates Stadium.
The Black Cats will leave with their heads held high after Nathan Broadhead scored a wonderful finish in the first half before Elliot Embleton his the woodwork with a curling effort in the second half
- Final score: Arsenal 5 Sunderland 1
- Eddie Nketiah’s hat-trick and a Nicolas Pepe effort secured a comfortable win for Mikel Arteta’s side, while Nathan Broadhead scored for Sunderland.
- 18-year-old wonderkid Charlie Patino came on in the second half for his senior debut for the Gunners and grabbed his first-ever goal as well.
