The salsa songstress went live on Tik Tok to express how the Black community encouraged her to pursue her singing career.
She also explained that every time she sang, she was asked by African American kids to sing the chorus of a song, and she allowed herself to be led.
La India was raised in the South Bronx, where salsa hip-hop was birthed. She knew by the energy of the music influence, the magic around her would manifest, which led her to who she is now.
In 2016, La India won the Latin Grammy award for Best Salsa for her album, Intensamente La India Con Canciones De Juan Gabriel.
