One man was killed and a second man injured in a separate stabbings Friday morning on Somerset Street West.
Ottawa police identified the slain man as Carl Reinboth, 64, who was found bleeding by patrol officers when they were called to the intersection of Somerset Street West and Arther Street at 9:41 a.m.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A little over two hours later, a second man was stabbed by the same suspect two blocks to the east in the 600 block of Somerset West, police said. That man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect is in custody and charges are pending, police said.
