Amazon has officially released the first photos from its long in the works TV series adaptation of Robert Jordan’s fantasy novel series “The Wheel of Time”.
Until now there have only been vague and very quick character teasers along with an official logo, so these shots finally give us a look at the main series cast.
The four shots show the full line-up along with a shot of a quiet moment between Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) and Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), a shot of Logain (Álvaro Morte) being held captive by the mystic order of Aes Sedai, and one of warder Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney) protecting Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) from the haunted city of Shadar Logoth.
The story follows Moiraine as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
The cast also includes Zoe Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybare, and Michael McElhatton as Tam al’Thor, as well as Maria Doyle Kennedy, Sophie Okonedo, Clare Perkins, Priyanka Bose, Daryl McCormack and Kae Alexander.
Rafe Judkins serves as showrunner with Uta Briesewitz directing the first two episodes. The first season will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in November with a second already in production.
