The official website of the Cool Doji Danshi (Play It Cool, Guys) television anime revealed additional cast, staff, opening theme artist, a promotional video and key visual (pictured) on Wednesday. The anime will premiere on October 11 at 1:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo, followed by AT-X and BS11.

Mafumafu (Takt Op. Destiny) will perform the opening song “Seishun Kippu,” which is previewed in the promotional video below.
Chiaki Kon (Gokushufudou) is directing the anime at studio Pierrot. Makoto Ueze (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) is in charge of the series composition, and Masato Nakayama (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) is composing the music. Eri Taguchi (Vampire in the Garden key animation) is the character designer and chief animation director.
The anime adapts Kokone Nata‘s slice of life manga which is based on a series of artworks posted on their Twitter account since May 2018. Nata serialized the manga on Pixiv and Pixiv Comic in February 2019 and subsequently switched to Gangan pixiv in June that year. Square Enix shipped the fourth volume last November.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English in September 2020. The third volume was released on May 24, with the fourth volume scheduled to be released on September 27.

Update September 11
The official website of the television anime adaptation of Kokone Nata’s Cool Doji Danshi (Play It Cool, Guys) manga announced an additional cast and ending theme artist on Sunday.
Makoto Furukawa (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) is joining the cast as Motoharu Igarashi.
Main cast members Chiaki Kobayashi (Tomodachi Game), Kouki Uchiyama (Horimiya), Yuuichirou Umehara (Tsukipro The Animation), and Shouya Chiba (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) are performing the ending theme “Flash!” as the unit PICG.
