Jennifer Lawrence might be a Hollywood star and an Oscar winner, but she’s also a huge fan of reality TV — and specifically Don’t Tell the Bride.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter as part of its annual actress roundtable discussion, Lawrence revealed she loves watching reality series like Love Island and Below Deck to decompress after work.

She explained to the rest of the panel that the UK is the best country in the world for reality shows, with one in particular shining above the others.
“You guys have the best reality show ever: Don’t Tell the Bride. The groom plans the entire wedding, and the bride can’t know about it,” Lawrence said.
She added: “Sometimes it’s great and romantic and like ‘oh these colours are horrible, but thank you honey’. And then sometimes, they break up over it.
“One woman was like: ‘Not Vegas. Not Vegas. Not Vegas’. Guess what? It was Vegas. And he didn’t invite her sister.”

Lawrence revealed that she has had to justify her affection for these shows to co-stars who don’t understand the allure of a well-crafted reality series.
She said: “I had to defend myself to Woody Harrelson. He came into my trailer and was like: ‘Are you really going to watch this garbage?’
“And here’s what I have to say about the garbage. You’re watching interpersonal relationships that are real. As far as I can see, they’re real. I’ve never made a reality TV show, so it’s real, it’s real, it’s real.”
Lawrence is currently promoting her Oscar contender role in Apple TV+ drama Causeway, with her co-star Brian Tyree Henry also tipped as a possible Best Supporting Actor nominee.

She portrays a soldier who returns from Afghanistan with a traumatic brain injury and must readjust to life away from the frontline.
Lawrence has been nominated for acting prizes at the Oscars four times, winning Best Actress in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook.
