“Aquaman” star Jason Momoa is reportedly in negotiations to voice the lead character in the planned film based on the “Minecraft” game franchise at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The Ankler broke the report, adding that “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Nacho Libre” helmer Jared Hess has been tapped to direct.
The film has a long history at Warners and has seen various directors drop out and various date shifts over time. Steve Carell was at one point attached as well.
Another issue is according to the report, Warners’ leasing of the rights expires in January 2023 which means the film has to start production before that time.
