This comes at the back of the recent economic hardships going on in the country which has gotten the majority of Ghanaians to complain bitterly about the ill-governance of the Akufo Addo-led government.

The President, Nana Addo after he was engaged in an emergency meeting with his cabinet ministers and members of the Economic Management Team (EMT) over the weekend decided to cut the salaries of government appointees perhaps to soften other aspects of the economy.

According to reports, this initiative or decision taken by the President is to ensure the protection of social interventions like the School Feeding Programme, Free SHS among others.

Reports filed by Asaaseradio.com revealed that further discussions and delegations about the President’s proposal are still ongoing as the final update will be communicated to the public by the close of the day.

Also, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has also intimated that 16 flagship programs of the government including the Free Senior High School are up for review, adding that this is one of the decisions taken by the government in the 3-days crunch cabinet meeting, held at Peduase Lodge.
