LCS Championship – 100T vs EG – Who’s going to the LCS Finals?

The LCS Championship is coming to an end this week, as only three teams are left for a run to the title. With C9 waiting in the finals, it’s up to 100Thieves and Evil Geniuses to face off this Saturday and determine the second finalist.

Not only that, but winning also means getting a spot straight to the Worlds 2022 group stage. What can we expect going into this series?

Getting Inspired and merch’d

LCS Championship Preview – 100T vs EG

The two teams have made it to the top 3 but only one of them will advance. The other will have to fight at the Worlds play-in stage against all the other wildcard teams and the 4th seeds from the major regions. With such stacked rosters this year, it will be hard for NA teams to get out of Play-Ins. With this in mind, the series will have a very important meaning for both.

On one hand, we have 100Thieves, who made it to the semifinals but fell short of C9, who seems like the undisputed Number #1 team. A very teamfight-oriented team that loves to play aggressively in the early stages of the game. Having said that, other teams have noticed this pattern as well and have started to take away these comfort picks for 100T. When this happened, 100T have struggled to replicate the results, as they drafted late-game scaling comps without much success. In addition, their front-to-back doesn’t seem to be as strong.

EG have shown the ability to draft those late game team comps better. Not only that, but EG always enjoy drafting wombo combo comps that are very ultimate-dependent. While I thought that EG could’ve had a draft advantage and made it much closer, EG announced that the starting ADC Danny, who was such a pivotal member for the team, won’t be starting for this last week of LCS Championship. The public statement said that Danny had to step down due to mental health issues. In his stead, EG will field Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk from the academy roster.

The decision has greatly changed the expectations coming into the series. I was expecting a very close series, with both of them having chances of making it through. With the new information, though, I’m favoring 100 Thieves a lot more. EG’s academy roster didn’t perform well during summer and the ADC player is a few tiers below Danny. Not to mention the lack of time preparation and synergy that comes with such a last-minute change.

Nevertheless, LoL odds are still pretty good for the series, especially at . Below you can find some of the best ones, so feel free to pick among those:

  • Winner: 100T (1.35x)
  • Correct Map Score: 100T 3-1 EG (3.39x)
  • Total kills: over 96.5 (1.64x)
  • Match handicap kills: 100T | -14.5 (2.09x)
  • First Blood: EG (2.19x)
  • Total towers: under 11.5 (2.29x)
  • Total dragons slain: over 4.5 (2.01x)

Can anyone beat C9?

Cloud9 has gone from a mediocre summer split to locking Worlds. With the roster they had on their hands, they were more expected to dominate the rest of the competition. While it took them some time, it seems like things are finally in place. But is there a team that can fight with the current roster of C9?

Considering what we mentioned earlier about EG, I don’t think they are even close to them. 100T were destroyed in the winners’ bracket as well, which makes me wanna say that no one is on par with Cloud9 right now. Just like every year when Worlds is around the corner, Cloud9 seems to be the best-performing team from NA. Hoping that they can take the fight to the best teams from LPL and LCK…
