Akon was on Sway In The Morning giving big props to fellow African artists representing the continent.

The “Locked Up” artist also added that Wizkid has been the “poster child” for the success of the Afrobeats genre and says he caught on to him when he met the “Brown Skin Girl” artist in 2010.

Akon also praised Burna Boy for his career moves and said he has the swagger to represent Africa.

Another artist that has impressed the Konvict label owner is Davido because he had to grind to get to his career’s success in recent years.

Earlier this month, Wizkid gave fans more music as he released “Bad To Me,” months after winning the BET Awards for Best Collaboration alongside Tems for the song “Essence.”

Earlier this month, Burna Boy performed on the Made In America Festival stage, showing his stage presence with a little flash from his dance team.

Towards the end of 2020, Davido released visuals for “So Crazy,” where he teamed up with Lil Baby.

Another former Konvict artist, T-Pain, exposed Akon. He claimed his brother used to perform at his shows for him.
