While marquee releases for Star Wars have typically been full-length films or, more recently, episodic shows, Star Wars: Visions hit last year as an anthology that set itself apart from your average Star Wars fare. Now, Lucasfilm is working on another animated anthology, according to a panel description from the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event (via The Verge).

On Saturday, May 28, at 2:30 PM, author Amy Ratcliffe and Lucasfilm Creative Executive Director Dave Filoni will host a panel for Tales of the Jedi, which the official panel listing describes as “Tales of the Jedi, animated anthology shorts.”

The description doesn’t offer any other details about the anthology aside from those three words. It could be a direct successor to Star Wars: Visions, or it could be something more traditional that’s meant to be canonical to the modern Star Wars universe in the same way that novels like Aftermath and Resistance Reborn are.

The Verge notes that Dark Horse Comics had a Tales of the Jedi series in the ’90s that was used to explore the history of the Star Wars expanded universe, and that this could be a way to start bringing in ideas from the Old Republic books and games, as well as the High Republic line of novels.

The Celebration event will also do a deep dive into Star Wars: Visions the next day at 12:30 PM in a panel titled A Look Back at Star Wars: Visions. The panel will feature team members from Lucasfilm and Qubic Pictures discussing the creative process behind the anthology, as well as showing new concept art from development.

Star Wars Celebration 2022 takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA, from Thursday, May 26 until Sunday, May 29.
