A week-old heat warning has finally been lifted with the forecast featuring a sunny high of 25 C and far less humidity ahead of what’s expected to be a cloudy weekend with the chance of some showers.
It was 17 C at the Ottawa airport as of 7 a.m. Friday. A north wind at 20 km/h was predicted to become light in the morning. The humidex was expected to be 27 with a UV index of 8 or very high.
Friday evening’s forecast is increasingly cloudy with wind becoming east at 20 km/h after midnight and a low of 17 C.
Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and an east wind at 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the afternoon. The forecast high is 24 C with a humidex of 28.
There’s a 60 per cent chance of showers and a forecast low of 19 C Saturday night.
Sunday is expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers both day and night, a high of 28 C and low of 20 C.
A 40 per cent chance of showers is forecast for Monday with a high of 27 C and a low of 16 C.
Then it’s a string of days with forecast mixed skies, highs in the mid-20s and cooler nights.
Tuesday is expected to reach 26 C with a low of 14 C. Wednesday’s forecast high is 25 C with a low of 13 C. Thursday is expected to reach 24 C.
“Normals” for this time of year are highs of 23 C and lows of 13 C.
Sunrise is at 6:18 a.m. and sunset is at 7:50 p.m.
