With her youngest headed off to school soon, Kate Middleton confessed she might have just a mild case of baby fever.
While on her first overseas solo royal tour in five years, the Duchess of Cambridge met with parents and their young children at the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Project during a visit to the University of Copenhagen. She revealed that being around all of the kids, “it makes me very broody,” much to her husband Prince William‘s displeasure. She added, “William always worries about me meeting under-1-year-olds. I come home saying, ‘Let’s have another one.’” The couple is already parents to three children, 8-year-old Prince George, 6-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 3-year-old Prince Louis.
Last month, the Duke of Cambridge also joked about his wife’s desire to grow their family during a visit to a hospital in Lancashire, England. While there, a couple handed Kate their infant for a photo prompting the royal to joke, “Don’t give my wife any more ideas.” And as the Duchess returned the little girl to her parents, he teased Kate, saying, “Don’t take her with you.”
The Duchess is currently visiting Copenhagen to kick off the year-long celebrations for Queen Elizabeth‘s Platinum Jubilee, as well as promote her Early Year Foundation, and learn how Denmark has “created an enabling culture for early childhood development, specifically how it has promoted infant mental wellbeing alongside physical health, and how it harnesses the power of nature, relationships and playful learning in the first five years of life,” according to Kensington Palace. During her stay, the royal will be hosted at Christian IX’s Palace by Queen Margrethe II who is also celebrating her Jubilee this year. Margrethe is celebrating 50 years on the throne, while Queen Elizabeth is commemorating her 70th. Much like the British monarch, Margrethe also recently recovered from COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms. While there, Kate will also visit the Mary Foundation with Princess Mary, who just celebrated her 50th birthday, to see the work they’re doing to protect vulnerable women and children from domestic violence.
