The third and final installment in Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise is set for release in May next year with the film’s director James Gunn recently completing principal photography.
Gunn and the cast turned up at Marvel’s Comic-Con panel on Saturday to show off an early trailer which was exclusive for only Hall H attendees, the clip not going online.
Taking to social media to respond to requests for the footage’s release digitally, Gunn explains why that won’t happen just yet:
“It’s not just Marvel, it’s also me. Although I love the teaser, some VFX aren’t where I’d want them to be for repeated views and close inspection – remember we didn’t wrap long ago – so you’ll have to wait just a beat! Sorry!”
The trailer reportedly teases Rocket’s origin, confirms Gamora no longer remembers her fellow Guardians, offers a first glimpse of the buff and all-gold Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), and teases Maria Balakova’s appearance as Cosmo the Space Dog.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will hit cinemas on May 5th 2023.
