The Royal Society Science Book Prize 2020, sponsored by Insight Investment, is a prestigious award given to popular science books from across the world which are written for general readers. Out of 172 submissions, a shortlist of six best popular science books was revealed recently for this year’s award. The shortlist was selected by five judges including: biologist and poet Professor Anne Osbourn FRS OBE (Chair), Katharine Fry, Katy Guest, Dr Kartic Subr, Sophie Ward. The Royal Society Science Book Prize 2020 winner will be announced in October and the author will receive £25,000; while each shortlisted author will be awarded £2,500.
