It is common knowledge that Bollywood actors are some of the highest-paid professionals in our country. Bollywood movies earn big as they are one of the primary sources of entertainment for the audiences. Take Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun for example, the movie was made with a relatively small budget of Rs 32 crore and amassed a worldwide collection of above Rs 300 crore, according to Business Today. This invariably leads to actors increasing their personal fees after the success of their films.

1. Ranbir Kapoor – Sanju
Ranbir Kapoor did an impeccable job portraying Sanjay Dutt on the big screen. The biopic, titled Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, was a big critical and commercial win. Kapoor also bagged a Filmfare Award for his role. Banking on Sanju’s popularity, according to a report in HT, Ranbir Kapoor doubled his endorsement fees from Rs 3 to 6 crore.
2. Varun Dhawan – Judwaa 2
Varun Dhawan made Judwaa 2, a remake of the already successful and iconic Judwa (featuring Salman Khan), his own. The film, directed by David Dhawan, was a huge hit at the box office, which led to Varun Dhawan hiking his fee. According to Deccan Chronicle, the actor increased his remuneration to Rs 25 crore per film, leaving behind a lot of his contemporaries.
3. Deepika Padukone – Padmaavat
On the sets of Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone was already the highest-paid actor with a fee of Rs 13 crore, according to Free Press Journal. Both Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were offered Rs 10 crore each for their roles. Riding on its success, according to HT, Padukone has increased her charges and is reportedly earning Rs 14 crore for ’83.
4. Priyanka Chopra – The Sky is Pink
Priyanka Chopra returned as a lead in a Bollywood film with The Sky is Pink, after a long break. The actress, as most of us are aware, was focused on Quantico and then her wedding with Nick Jonas. However, for The Sky is Pink, The Asian Age reported that Chopra would be taking home a share of the profits, which would be a lot more than her usual fees.
5. Ranveer Singh – Padmaavat
As mentioned earlier, Ranveer Singh took home Rs 10 crore for his role in Padmaavat. However, the praise received for his performance led the actor to increase his fee per movie. According to a report in FPJ, Singh has charged Rs 13 crore for his upcoming movie, ‘83.
6. Kareena Kapoor Khan – Veere Di Wedding
Kareena Kapoor Khan has been delivering hits in Bollywood for as long as we can remember. From Jab We Met to the more recent Udta Punjab, the actress has proven her acting mettle time and again. So, it’s no surprise that after the success of Veere Di Wedding, the actress raised her asking price by 50 per cent for Takht, her next project with Karan Johar, according to Mid-day.
7. Vicky Kaushal – Uri: The Surgical Strike
Uri: The Surgical Strike was a huge hit, both personally for Vicky Kaushal and at the box office. The actor who had a strong debut with Masaan, further cemented his position in the industry. According to a report in The Economic Times, Kaushal increased his endorsement fees to Rs 2-3 crore.

Ayushmann Khurrana has made his very own niche with movies on social topics and debatable issues, and has tasted glory with these roles too. Think: Article 15. However, it was after his dynamic role in Dream Girl that the actor decided to move his acting fees a notch higher. Popular tabloid Mid-day reported that he increased it by a cool 8 crore, going from Rs 2 crore to 10 crore.
9. Kartik Aaryan – Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety
Kartik Aaryan has been steadily building a brand for himself. The actor who found fame, primarily from his monologue in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, is now a popular actor in B’town. After the success of Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, where Aaryan plays the lead role, he raised his fee to Rs 7 crore, per Free Press Journal.
10. Kangana Ranaut – Queen
Kangana Ranaut’s Queen, the empowering story of a happy-go-lucky girl, had a healthy outing at the box office. Ranaut nailed the character and also took home a National Award for her role in the film. Understandably, she hiked her price after the movie did well. In fact, according to HT, she also became the highest-paid Bollywood actress with a fee of Rs 24 crore for Thalaivi.
